Trudeau to meet with Governor-general to dissolve parliament – the formal beginning of the campaign period

The Canadian Politician – The federal election period is set to begin officially on Wednesday, Sept 11. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to meet with the Governor-General at Rideau Hall to formally dissolve parliament, a move that would allow PMs around the country to return to their ridings in readiness for the federal elections. The Conservative Leader, Andrew Sheer, will launch his campaign in Quebec and Ontario, while the NDP leader, Jagmeet Singh will kickoff his campaign on Sunday’s Toronto. The federal elections is set for Oct. 21.
